World Diabetes Day registered a record number of visits in the Nefrocenter points, which were set up in 9 squares of the Campania Region, in collaboration with the Unesco Chair of Federico II University of Naples. More than 1,000 people had their blood sugar checked and did the free diabetes visit with the specialist of the Group, which has over 40 centers and collaborates with the Unesco Chair of Professor Colao. The event in the squares was a great success.
This year, Nefrocenter extended the event to Pompeii and Scafati for the first time. The stand in the Bartolo Longo square in Pompeii was also visited by Professor Anna Maria Colao of the Unesco Chair of the Federico II University of Naples, by the Group’s founder Giovanni Lombardi and by Sandro Gentile, Professor of Internal Medicine at the Vanvitelli University, President of the Italian Foundation for Diabetologists and Research Coordinator of Nefrocenter Research.
Record numbers of visits were registered in Scafati, Castellamare di Stabia, Torre Annunziata, Naples, Nola, Cava de’ Tirreni, Mercogliano e Nocera Inferiore. A lot of people decided to undergo Nefrocenter’s free tests. Thanks to the consultation with the Nefrocenter specialists, over 600 people resulted at “risk” of diabetes, and further tests were prescribed to them. An excellent outcome for a day dedicated to prevention.
Throughout the whole month of November, Nefrocenter will perform free nephrological visits in all its facilities. All the people will have to do is to check out the website (www.nefrocenter.it) and the social network pages (https://www.facebook.com/NefrocenterNefrocenter) to find the nearest facility to book a visit to.
